today i walked into a faculty work area to get a little work done before class started. there was one man standing in front of one of the places to work. another man was sitting at another, doing his own work. the only other table was covered in someone's crap- but they were nowhere to be seen. there was a space on the edge of that table that was available, so i pulled up a chair and started getting some work done... about 10 minutes later a woman walked in, and got very pissy (the corner of one of my papers was covering some of her work). she sighed, and said "tell you what, i'm going to go to the bathroom, and maybe when i get back you'll be done." she promptly turned and walked out. fuming, i wrote the following note to her (i would have just stayed and kept working but i had to go teach...crud). the note said "tell you what, maybe if you didn't spread your crap all over the place so other people can't work i wouldn't be in your way. tell you what, maybe you should not be as rude next time, being more polite might serve you better." i was going to just leave, but i thought that was too chicken shit- so i printed my name at the bottom and left it in the middle of her crap. i also shuffled her stuff up, but just a little- turning papers sideways, moving one stack to the other side of the table- nothing major. bitch. i'm kind of afraid now- i don't want her to complain to my boss- but if she does then she is just a spoiled middled aged brat. i'll tell my boss what happened, and i won't apologize for it. passive aggressive much?
